The Katy Rodeo has been a long-standing symbol in Katy, and an integral part of Katy's history since 1943. Due to this historical influence, the rodeo committee has witnessed generous support from the Katy community and surrounding areas for the rodeo and parade; this support is deeply valued and graciously appreciated by the committee volunteers as they strive to provide a great rodeo event year after year.
Given the current situation with Covid-19, it has become very difficult, if not nearly impossible, to provide that historical event in a safe environment. So, it is with heavy hearts that the Board of Directors & its Officers have voted to postpone the February 2021 rodeo and parade events. The decision was made with the safety of the community, committee, and contestants as the number one priority. The Board will review the situation again in the near future to determine if an alternate date in 2021 can be selected which will be conducive to hosting a safe and successful event.
We will continue to monitor the Covid-19 situation and adjust as needed in an effort to ensure the safety to everyone involved.
